Privacy Policy — Expense Manager

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Expense Manager ("the app") is a personal finance tool that helps you track your bank, credit-card and cash balances, expenses, and money owed between you and other people. This policy explains what the app does with your data.

Who runs this app

This app is operated by an individual for personal and small-group use. Contact: cskrishangoel@gmail.com.

Where your data is stored

All the financial data you enter is stored in a single Google Sheets spreadsheet inside your own Google Drive, under your own Google account. The app has no server and no database of its own. We do not receive, store, or have any access to your data — it never leaves your Google account except to display it back to you in the app on your device.

Google account access we request

When you sign in with Google, the app asks for only this permission:

We request the minimum access needed to run the app. We do not request access to your email, contacts, photos, or the rest of your Drive.

How your data is used

Your data is used only to show you your balances, transactions and reports inside the app, and to save what you enter into your own spreadsheet. It is not sold, shared, transferred, or used for advertising. No analytics or tracking services receive your financial data.

Use of Google user data & Limited Use

The app's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google user data to provide and improve the app's user-facing features, and we do not transfer or use it for serving ads, or for any purpose unrelated to the app.

Data sharing between people

Each person who uses the app has their own separate spreadsheet in their own Drive. Nothing is shared automatically. If you choose to share your spreadsheet with someone (through Google Drive's own sharing), that is your decision and under your control.

Data retention & deletion

Your data lives in your Google Drive for as long as you keep the spreadsheet. To delete it, delete the spreadsheet from your Google Drive, and/or remove the app's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Security

Sign-in uses Google's OAuth 2.0. The app runs entirely in your browser and talks directly to Google's APIs over HTTPS. Because there is no central server, there is no central store of user data to be breached.

Children

This app is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
